Important: Your images are never stored by ShopSnap. Uploaded images are processed in memory and automatically deleted once processing is complete.
1. Data Controller
ShopSnap (shopsnap.eu) is the data controller for personal data collected through this service. For data-related inquiries, contact us at info@shopsnap.eu.
2. Data We Collect
- Email address – used for authentication and account access.
- Usage data – number of images processed (for subscription limit enforcement).
- Images – uploaded images are processed in memory and are not stored after processing completes.
We do not collect or process images containing faces or biometric data. Users are solely responsible for any such content they upload.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Providing and managing your account.
- Enforcing subscription plan limits.
- Improving the service.
4. Third-Party Processors
- Supabase – authentication and database management. Data is stored on EU servers (Frankfurt). Supabase is GDPR-compliant.
- Remove.bg – background removal API. Images are sent to their servers solely for processing and are not retained by them afterwards. Remove.bg acts as a Data Processor under our data processing agreement.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. The authentication JWT token is stored in your browser's localStorage and deleted when you log out. Application preferences (such as hiding the photo guide) are stored locally in your browser.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
As a data subject you have the right to:
- Access the personal data held about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and all associated data ("right to be forgotten").
- Data portability.
- Restrict processing.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (the ICO in the UK, your national DPA in the EU, or the Bulgarian CPDP).

7. Data Retention
Personal data (email address, usage statistics) is retained until account deletion or upon your explicit request. Images are not stored after processing.
8. Changes to This Policy
For material changes we will notify you by email or via the application. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
